What's megl?
- megl is simple application for tracking your locations by using GPS on Android.
- The logged location can be saved on the SD card by the KML format. You can use kml on Google Earth and Google Maps.
- The logged location can be displayed even on the map in this application.
- Displayed map can be saved as image file to SD card.
How to use
- Start logging.
- Stop logging.
- Show map.
- Save logged data.
- Delete logged data.
- Capture map screen.
- Set min distance.
- Set number of data.
Start logging.
- Launch "megl".
- On Main window, click Start button.
- On Trip setting window, edit title, description etc. Then click Start tracking button.
Stop logging.
- Launch "megl" from status bar.
- On Main window, click Stop button.
Show map.
- Launch "megl".
- On Main window, click Map Menu.
- On Map window, select trip from Select trip menu.
Save logged data.
- Launch "megl".
- On Main window, click Save data menu.
- Then KML file to be saved on SD card storage.
Delete logged data.
- Launch "megl".
- On Map window, click Delete trip menu.
- Trip data that is shown on the map will be deleted.
Capture map screen.
- Launch "megl".
- On Map window, click Capture menu.
- Captured image and trip info will be saved to SD card.
Set min distance.
- Launch "megl".
- On Main window, click Common setting menu.
- On Common settings window, click Minimum distance.
- Select minimum distance for logging.
Set number of data.
- Launch "megl".
- On Main window, click Common setting menu.
- On Common settings window, click Number of data on map.
- Select number of data on map.

Main window
On Window
- Start button
- This button opens Trip settings window to start logging.
- Stop button
- This button stops logging.
On Menu
- Map
- The recorded data is displayed on the map every trip.
- When you have a lot of data, you can reduce data on map from Common settings window のNumber of data on map menu
- It is not possible to use it while logging.
- Save
- The recorded all data is saved on the SD card.
- Saved format is KML format, and save to "/sdcard/" directory.
- File name is "megl.yyyymmddhhiiss.kml".
- KML can be used in Google Earth and Google Maps.
- It is not possible to use it while logging.
- Common settings
- Set the number of data displayed in minimum distance and the map where data is recorded
- It is not possible to use it while logging.

Trip setting window
On Window
- Trip
- Please select "New" at a new logging.
- It logs as continuation when an existing trip is selected.
- Title
- Title of this trip.
- When you save the trip to SD card, this is used for trip title.
- Description
- Description of this trip.
- When you save the trip to SD card, this is used for trip description.
- DateTime
- Date time of this trip.
- Start tracking button
- Logging location begins.
- Please operate it as much as possible in outdoor.
- The logging of present location starts when GPS is caught. And check GPS icon on status bar.
- While GPS icon blinking, current location is not logged.
- If GPS icon lights, GPS is caught and location is logged at the time of this.
- When you stop the logging, select megl icon on status bar, and click Stop button.
- The accuracy of GPS changes depending on the condition of the weather and the place.
- The logging content is latitude, longitude, altitude, and date time.
- Note the amount of the battery remainder.

- Help
- This help text.
Map window
On Window
- It scrolls and zoom if screen touching.
On Menu
- Select trip
- The trip displayed on the map is selected.
- Delete trip
- The trip data shown on map will be deleted.
- Capture
- Map on screen will be saved as image(PNG) to SD card.
- Image file name is "megl.yyyymmddhhiiss.png".
- Trip info(title, description, date time, trip distance) will be saved as text(TXT) to SD card.
- Text file name is "megl.yyyymmddhhiiss.txt".(UTF-8)
- Common settings
- The number of data displayed in the map is changed.
- Select Number of data on map on Common settings window to change settings.

On Window
- Minimum distance
- Minimum distance for logging.
- This value is a rough guide.
- Number of data on map
- The number of data displayed on the map is adjusted. If mapping is getting slower, you change this setting.
