What's LinearDistance?



LinearDistance is Android app for measuring distance on the map.

To set markers, double-tap on the map. If you use GPS, your present location is used for present point. Marker is up to 100.

Distance units are meters, kilo-meters, miles and nautical-miles.


How to use.



Set markers.



  1. Launch "LinearDistance"

  2. Double-tap on the map area.



Set present location.



  1. Launch "LinearDistance".

  2. Pres menu button.

  3. Select "My Location" menu.



Remove latest marker.



  1. Launch "LinearDistance".

  2. Set markers to the map.

  3. Tap "Undo" button.



Remove all markers.



  1. Launch "LinearDistance".

  2. Set markers to the map.

  3. Tap "Clear" button.



Change distance unit.



  1. Launch "LinearDistance".

  2. Double-tap on the map, and set 2 or more markers.

  3. Tap "Unit" button.

  4. Units changes meters(m) -> kilo-meters(km) -> miles(mi) -> nautical-miles(nmi)

  5. Default is "meters(m)"



Change measuring method.



  1. Launch "LinearDistance".

  2. Double-tap on the map, and set 2 or more markers.

  3. Tap Mode button.

  4. Mode toggles Individual to Cumulative.

  5. Default is "Individual"



Show equidistant area.



  1. Launch "LinearDistance".

  2. Double-tap on the map, and set 2 or more markers.

  3. Tap "Area" button.

  4. Area changes None -> "Rough" -> "Strict".

  5. "Rough" area is shown translucent red.

  6. "Strict" area is enclosed in red point.

  7. Default is "None"

Map



  • To set markers, double-tap on the map.

  • To pop-up zoom controller, tap on the map.



Clear button



  • This button removes all markers.



Unit button



  • This button changes distance units.

  • Units are meters(m), kilo-meters(km), miles(mi) and nautical-miles(nmi).

  • Units changes meters(m) -> kilo-meters(km) -> miles(mi) -> nautical-miles(nmi)



Mode button



  • This button changes measuring methods.

  • Measuring methods are "Individual" and "Cumulative".



Area button



  • Area changes None -> "Rough" -> "Strict".

  • "Rough" area is shown translucent red. (using Mercator projection)

  • "Strict" area is enclosed in red points. (using zenithal projection)

  • It is difficult to translate this section to English, so PLEASE USE IT!!



Undo button



  • Remove latest marker.




Menu



My Location



  • Using GPS for present location, and set as start point(0th marker)(changed on Ver.1.2)

  • Using GPS for present location, and set marker to present location.(changed on Ver.1.2)

  • Please operate it as much as possible in outdoor.
